About Mari Winsor
After a career as a professional dancer, Mari Winsor established herself as a Los Angeles-based fitness expert. Having studied pilates with Ramona Kryzanowska, one of Joseph Pilates original proteges, she went onto develop her own unique pilates style. Mari has multiple video and DVD titles to her name in addtion to having co-authored a number of fitness books.
The DVD
The Mari Winsor Pilates for Pink Slimdown is organised into four full-length, targeted routines. The routines can be completed individually or can be combined in any order using the DVDs special features allowing the user to individualise the routine to their specific needs.
Cardio Burn
This routine is a 15-minute standing low-impact aerobic workout. A variety of fluid dance movements and aerobics are combined to increase your heart rate and your calorie burn. This segment also provides an excellent warm-up when combined with all or part of the remaining routines.

Flat-Ab Blast
Completed entirely on the floor, this mat work routine combines many traditional pilates core exercises to strengthen and tone the abdominals. The sequence of moves uses resistance created by the weight of the arms and legs to work the upper and lower abdominals. The exercises focus on smooth, stable movements. Core work benefits posture and strenghtens the back muscles as well as the abdominals.
Butt and Thigh Sculptor
This segment is completed on the mat and combines a variety movements to tone and strengthen the thighs and the buttocks. Many of the exercises uniquely focus on strengthening the inner thighs and the glutes to raise the buttocks and create a lifted sculpted look to the hips, thighs, and buttocks.
Total Body Makeover
This segment combines a variety of pilates movements targeting different body areas, providing a balanced workout for all over strengthening and toning.
Suitability
Maris detailed instruction and modifications for different ability levels are ideally suited to provide a clear introduction to pilates for the beginning exerciser or those new to pilates. More experienced pilates participants and exercisers can incorporate the short targeted segments or combinations to increase the affects of their regular routines.
