Pedlar Pro Basics
The Battle Creek Pedlar Pro combines all the best qualities of a pedal exerciser. It has a stable base so that it wont tip over when you pedal. The pedals have straps to secure your feet. The straps are also wide so if you are using the machine during rehabilitation and have to wear a brace or orthopedic footwear, the strap is large enough to cover the brace and still tighten to secure the foot. The tension of the pedal exerciser that increases or decreases resistance is simple to change with a twist of the knob. The machine doesnt need any batteries or an outlet and it is small enough to fit under a desk. It costs around $60.
Adjustable Pedals
A feature the Pedlar Pro has that most other pedal exercisers lack is the ability to adjust the angle of the pedals. This is not as much of an advantage for pedaling with your feet because you can move your chair or adjust the height of the chair with pillows if you need, but this feature does come in handy when pedaling with your arms. Depending on your arm length and the surface you place the machine on, pedaling with your arms may be uncomfortable or put strain on the wrists. Of course, this can also make a leg workout more comfortable too.
Ability to Travel
The convenience of the Pedlar Pro is another factor that makes it worth purchasing. The Pedlar Pro is already small at only four inches high, but by undoing a hinge assembly you can fold the pedal part down and slip the Pedlar Pro pedal exerciser into a bag or even a suitcase. Exercising on vacation can be challenging when you dont know where a gym is or if youre traveling frequently. Carrying the pedal exerciser with you eliminates the need to search for a way to exercise or having to pay for day passes at gyms.
